Facade overhaul requiring re-cladding, new windows and an
illuminated glass fin.
A former Chinese restaurant and office block was to be the new
home for Capital Radio when they decided to move from Euston Towers.
Capital Radio chose this land mark building, stretching between
Shaftesbury Avenue and Leicester Square, not only for its size but
for the location. Capital Radio wanted the exterior to reflect the
image of the station and to announce their arrival in the West End.
The windows, structural glazing and zinc cladding and render
together with an illuminated glass fin and special lighting were
added to the main facades to ensure the building was distinctive
both by day and night.
