Wroxton Memorial Music Room

History

In honour of the lives of his parents and in particular his mother, Andrée Trembath who died on the 27th of January 2021, Steve Trembath initiated a project that we hope will see a new music room built in the grounds of the Wroxton C of E Primary school. The aim is to create a music room that will provide space for the learning, performance and appreciation of music for the school and wider community.

It all began with the gift to the school of a baby grand piano, left to Steve by his mother. When the Head Teacher Mrs April Guiness told Steve that they were unable to accept his gift, as they had nowhere to put it, he responded that he really ought to to see what could be done about that. Steve has got the ball rolling with a generous gift from his mother’s bequest to him. In addition to this sum of around £200,000, more will need to be raised in order to get the get the plan off the ground. More of that that later, but if you would like to support this project please contact the Wroxton C of E Primary School Burser……..

In addition to the piano, Steve has also donated his father’s penny whistle, Ukelele and brass horn to the musical instrument store cupboard. The school will be glad to hear of other instruments, in good condition that may be appropriate gifts

In addition to his mother’s love of music, Steve’s father, Allan was an enthusiastic amateur pianist who liked to share his joy of music. And his grandfather, Henry Gough Trembath studied music at New College Oxford, and was later organist at Truro Cathedral.
